Aircraft types vs ranks map

Postby Peter Liddell » Wed Jul 16, 2014 5:48 pm

Since this is going to get confusing... I'm going to map this out over the eras...

This rank-map is quite clear for me.

Just one question about the DC-9: She's available for both the 80s (Main era) and the 70s (Whisperliner). I remember that somewhere here in the forum there's a posting that the Niners were gone by the late 70s (1978/1979). I can' find this posting at the moment (perhaps I'm searching with the wrong search key).

My question now: Are the DC-9s still 'flyable' for the 80s (Main era) or are they Whisperliner-birds only?

Hi Klaus,

You probably mean thew DC-9-14s... yes those are Whisperliners only now as they were all retired by 1980.
The DC-9-30 is both main and whisperliners and the DC-9-50 is main only.

Thanks Peter for this reply. This helps me to use the correct DC-9 version with the 80s Eastern Airlines.
