SJU Express type 30-45 seater

Postby Peter Liddell » Thu Nov 14, 2013 12:23 pm

Ok all....

After reviewing he best free models for FSX... I can't decide what to use for the SJU express op
The twin otter is fine, the PAD model is high quality and good... but that said... there are some options for the 30+ seater:

Dash 8 Q200, PAD model, good, lot of Caribbean use
Dornier 328-120, PAD model not DX10 compatible, no history in Caribbean
Saab 340, PAD model not DX10 compatible, some history in Caribbean but also already in "main" era
ATR42, ISDT model, some Caribbean history but bigger
EMB-120, PAD model not DX10 compatible, a little history in Caribbean

I'm leaning towards the Dash 8 now... but want opinions...

A difficult list to choose from (at least for me).

We already have the Dash 8Q100/Q200 in the 'normal' VEA-fleet (this Dash 8 is from Dreamwings). So I would tend to either the Saab 340 or the EMB-120.

I'm curious how the 'completed' 20xx-'division' of VEA will look like (fleet, routes).

Well Klaus,

The timetable is posted in another thread here...

We already have the Dash 8, ATR and Saab 340 in the main fleet...

Main fleet is Md95 and A320, details in another thread again...

Express from SJU only to start, eventually I might add in MIA and ATL Q400 flying... or maybe ATR72... but i like the Q400 better and there is some history of LCCs flying them (FlyBE).

Peter,

If you want to recruit more pilots, you might want to pick new Majestic software Q400 which is latest popular rage among flight simmers.

Hi Tim,

I'm aware about the other threads (flights, aircrafts, etc.). Perhaps I didn't said it precisely enough. I meant the 'presentation' of the 20xx-part of VEA in a similar way as you have done with the 'Golden Falcon'-webpage/-division.

Klaus,

Yes both Whisperliner and 20xx will have subpages, with all flight reporting via the same SystemOne interface, same as Golden Falcon.

Aharon,

Q400 is in the plans for expansion later, from ATL and/or MIA.

Sounds great Peter. Just take all the time you need, I won't push you.

Also I have to 'dust' some of the 'falcons of metal' as soon as my FS-machine (my old Win XP-PC) is back from my brother-in-law. At the moment I don't have my FS9 available on my major machine (HP laptop with Win 8.1). After receiving my FS-machine and adding my FS9 with all the birds and scenery, I will be able to fly again. But this will occur near January unfortunately.

Klaus
