DC-9-50 in Moonlight Special??????

Postby EAL1017-Aharon Dayan » Wed Jul 09, 2014 9:38 am

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

While I am EXTENSIVELY reading and admiring the new version of Virtual Eastern timetable schedule in both Virtual Eastern and Virtual Eastern Golden Falcon as well as Whisperliner too, I am surprised to come across one weird flight that says from KORD to KMSP using DC-9-50 and the comment said Moonlight Special.

Is this correct that DC-9-50 participated in Moonlight Special program that was usually flown by A300s and 727s???

Regards,

Aharon

There were DC-9s too... so yes it's correct.

Moonlight special basically just means the cargo space is sold to CF... apparently there were even L1011s rarely on Moonlight runs... but I've never seen one scheduled as such. Dc-9-50s and -30s both show up more and more the later the program goes.
