Question About Air Shuttle Liveries

Postby EAL1017-Aharon Dayan » Sun Nov 13, 2011 10:20 am

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

I know that all Eastern 727s running NYC, DC, and Boston routes usually had liveries with words Shuttle. My question is that did A300B4-200s serving in those routes have words shuttle on their liveries?

There were 2 A300s with the Air Shuttle Plus logo on them, N291EA and N292EA, these were A300B2K-200s instead of the normal A300B4s that EA flew. 291 and 292 were originally built for IranAir but were not delivered and EA got them cheap. They were more suited for the high cycle use of the shuttle than the B4s. EA later redeployed them into the main fleet and stopped using dedicated A300s on the shuttle, moving to all 727s in the late 80s before selling to Trump.

N291EA is in the package we have now with the Air Shuttle Plus stickers on the lower forward fuselage.

Peter,

Thanks for great explanations!! I remember flying on A300s from KLGA to KBOS and back!!! It was fun seeing this plane towering over all other smaller planes at KLGA!!!

Your comment "N291EA is in the package we have now with the Air Shuttle Plus stickers on the lower forward fuselage." solved my problem!!! I was looking for that Air Shuttle Plus sticker for A300s!!!!

Peter,

The livery with shuttle sticker for A300 is not in the fleet download center of Eastern Airlines. Please see what you can do about this.

Thanks,

Aharon

Sorry I looked at wrong files. I notice two files containing grey textures and one file containing white texture. I skipped grey ones and looked at the white texture which showed no words Air Shuttle. I always saw in KLGA and KBOS white livery Eastern A300s and as well as flew on those. Never saw grey ones which was why I skipped two files containing grey textures with words Air Shuttle. I did not know that Eastern Airbuses came in grey livery.

Did the white livery of Eastern Airbuses have words Air Shuttle??

I've never seen a photo of an Air shuttle plus titles on a white A300. As far as I was ever able to determine only N291EA and N292EA ever carried those when they were in the grey colors. When they were white they did not carry shuttle titles, though were used primarily for those services.

Okay, Peter

Thanks for info and disregard my request for Air Shuttle words. I like white Eastern livery better than gray one (no offense to you).

Thanks again.

Regards,

Aharon

No offense taken... I'm not super fond of the anodized grey scheme on the A300s either. It was supposed to be cheaper, but always looked dull and rough to me.

yes Eastern said the grey livery was 100 pounds less than white livery which amused me because 100 pounds did not make that BIG difference unless the writer of articles typed a typo and meant 1,000 pounds less.
